LALY Award 2013

Resolution is pleased to announce that three of our members have been shortlisted for this years' Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Awards.

The Awards are now into their eleventh year, and are run on a not for profit basis by the Legal Aid Practitioners Group to recognise excellence among access to justice lawyers.

With the legal aid scheme facing change on an unprecedented scale, this will be the last awards ceremony in the current form (though the LALYs will continue in the future). It is, therefore, more important than ever that collectively we take the opportunity of the 2013 LALY awards to recognise the invaluable contribution that legal aid practitioners make to social justice and the rule of law.

There are ten categories in total and once again Resolution is delighted to be sponsoring the Family Legal Aid Lawyer category. Rachel Carter from Wollen Michelmore and Ann Thompson from Goodman Ray have both been shortlisted in this category and Nadia Salam from GT Stewart Solicitors in the Legal Aid Newcomer - Lawyer category.

The winners will be announced and presented with their awards at a ceremony in Central London on July 2. BBC Legal Correspondent Clive Coleman will compere the event, and Lord Justice McFarlane will be handing out the awards.

We would like to congratulate Rachel, Ann and Nadia for their nominations and wish them every success.
