Resolution is pleased to announce that Rachel Horman from Watson Ramsbottom in Blackburn, was crowned Family Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year, at the prestigious Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Awards, held last night in central London.

The organisation is also delighted that the two other finalists in this category Razia Jogi from Switalskis in Bradford and Lindsay Taylor from Watkins Gunn in Pontypool are also both members of Resolution.

Liz Edwards, Chair of Resolution said, “Firstly I would like to offer my congratulations to Rachel, Razia and Lindsay. Being shortlisted for this award is recognition for the outstanding work legal aid lawyers do, and I am very proud that all three of the finalists in this category are Resolution members.

One of my favourite duties whilst being on National Committee of Resolution has been to attend the Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Awards. The energy, ingenuity and selflessness of the gifted lawyers highlighted at the Awards are awe-inspiring.”

A panel of 11 judges, chaired by Michael Mansfield QC (who also presented the awards) had selected 28 finalists across nine different categories, after reading over 1,000 pages of nominations. Entries were supported by testimonials from clients, medical and other experts, judges and campaigners.
