About

The London Regional Group has over 1000 members. We cover a wide geographical area, bounded by the M25. Our Members come from diverse practising backgrounds, a strength that is reflected in the membership of our Committee and in the seminars we organise.

Our committee and structure

Our committee meets once a month. All of us volunteer our time in addition to running busy practices. We come from firms large and small and, have a breadth of experience in privately and publicly funded work, financial and children cases.

Many of us sit on a number of other committees, including: the National Committee; the Family Justice Council; the Regional Liaison Committee; the Skills Committee; the ADR Committee; the Media Committee, and Court Users’ Groups.

Our purpose

We exist primarily to organise educational and social events for our members. On the educational side, we organise around 8 seminars per year on a range of topical subjects covering black letter law and skills training. Socially, we have a popular drinks party every year, usually during the summer, as well as organising other periodical events such as quiz nights.

YRes

Within London, a further group, Young Resolution (or ‘YRes’) has been formed as a sub-committee of the main group. YRes’s focus is on addressing the particular training needs of non-partners, and on hosting regular social events for their Membership. Find out more about London YRes.

Tell us what you think

We are your committee and we always welcome your views. You can communicate those to the Chair or the Secretary listed below; or attend our AGM, which occurs in November each year.
